Dear Readers, We hope you’ve had an amazing and productive 2026 so far, and now with spring break just around the corner, The Viking Views is excited to bring you our fourth issue of the year. Packed with news that’s both lively and enlightening, sip on your favorite spring drink and dive into our second issue of 2026.
Our News section opens the issue, highlighting Hoover’s own biomedical program in collaboration with Aultman Hospital and how they are changing lives. You will also see an article revealing what goes into determining a calamity day.
In our Features section, you will find your Editors-in-Chief, Leah Faye and Ryland Most, rating Francisco’s Cantina Restaurant, one of Mexican’s finest cuisines. We also, as always, do our Senior Spotlight, with this issue shining a spotlight on none other than Troy Seacrist.
As always, our Entertainment section is home to our reVIEWS, with this issue including a review on Zach Bryan’s “Heaven on Top” album as well as one on the recent “Percy Jackson” series. We also include our recently added Pop Culture-in-Brief segment.
Our Focus section brings light to one of the aspects of Hoover that makes them unique, the Arts. From a story featuring our latest musical, The Wizard of Oz, to a highlight on a few talented band students selected for two of Ohio’s All-State Bands, this section is sure to be a fun one.
As you read on to our Opinion section, you will find a debate between two of our staff members as well as opinions throughout the school, regarding the question, “Did you think the series finale (Stranger Things) lived up to the show’s reputation? Why or why not?” You will also find our staff editorial to match our focus, highlighting the importance of the arts being taught in school. Lastly, you will find a column written by a valuable team member of our staff regarding Trader Joe’s.
Finally, our Sports section consists of a story feature on the annual St. Baldrick’s Swim Fundraiser and as always, we conclude this section and issue with Hoover Captured.
For additional features, such as a 2026 Grammy highlights as well as a photo story of Hoover’s Valentine’s Day door decorating contest, visit our website, thevikingviews.com.
On behalf of the 2025-2026 Viking Views staff, happy almost spring break, and we hope you enjoy our fourth issue.
