An Israeli military official told AFP that the military had carried out air strikes on Doha on Sept. 9 in an operation targeting senior leaders of Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Israel carried out an air strike in the Gulf State of Qatar, a close U.S. ally, Sept. 9. “The Israeli strike on a Hamas meeting, where the group said its officials were discussing a cease-fire proposal backed by President Trump, threatened to undermine negotiations over the Gaza war,” according to The New York Times article. Later that month, the UK, Canada, Australia, and Portugal announced formal recognition of a Palestinian state.
