Recently North Canon has been coming under much maintenance. Main street and Applegrove area especially. Seven brew just opened back in November of last year. The newest addition to this is Dairy Queen!

 Dairy Queen is being built on Main street next to Goodwill and Starbucks. It is co-owned by Missy Warther, her husband and his family. This location will be their sixth one opening up. It is expected to open up this fall. 

“My brother in law and husband both have had a family business growing up and have wanted to have a business because of that. So my brother in law got involved with one of the Dairy Queens up North in Cuyahoga Falls and a guy said ill train you and we’ve been involved ever since” Mrs. Warther said. 

However, owning this new business wasn’t a very easy task. In order to own a dairy queen there is a lot of training that goes into it. 

“They have to learn all franchise training, they go away for a week to another Dairy queen in corporate, which is in minnesota. They’re trained how to run a franchise. They then have to get approval from them to be able to buy more locations.” Mrs. Warther said. 

This new Dairy Queen will present lots of opportunities for both Warthers and for Hoover students as well. Mrs Warther says they already donate lots of money to the school, but even more job openings may be available for students. 

“ I just help share what we do. I like to sponsor schools, give back to the local library such as the summer reading program. We also plan to hire local and district employees” 

Also something to be excited about also is this new Dairy Queen will be a full grill and chill. So all burgers and sandwiches will be available on the menu. It will also have a drive through and a dining room with far more seating. 

This new opening is extremely exciting and will bring so many more exciting things to this community. It hopefully will give a better sense of community as well as overall give back to the community.
