Canadian Election – Carny Victory – AP
Canada held elections April 28, which the ruling Liberal Party held onto control of the Canadian Parliament. In the beginning of 2025, conservatives seemed certain to win the election, but the inauguration of Donald Trump and his tariffs and threats to annex Canada turned the tide against the Conservative Party. While the liberals hold a plurality of seats in parliament (they are the largest party but do not hold a majority of seats) the smaller parties in Canada, that being the Bloc Quebecois, New Democrats, and Green parties all decreased their hold on Parliament.
