‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’
The third installment of the Avatar series. Following the second movie, the characters meet new Na’vi, and there’s still conflict on Pandora. A lot still isn’t known about this movie as it’s fully set to come out Dec. 19. This movie is unique because people already know that there are two more movies set to come out after this one, building significant anticipation for the overarching narrative. This movie is probably going to be rated PG-13 as well, considering that is what the other movies in this series are rated. This movie is stated as being three hours and 12 minutes long, and falls under the genre of Action/Sci-Fi.
‘Stranger Things’
Longly anticipated season five of this extremely popular show is finally coming out in late 2025. This season will pick up right after the end of the fourth season. Season five will feature eight different episodes most likely leading up to hopefully a happier ending. Although once again there is no official trailer just yet, based off of episode titles, fans could possibly figure out the general plot of season five. Just like the other two series, in this section, it will also follow the same rating as its four previous seasons of TV-14, the genre also follows the same horror elements.
‘Wicked: For Good’
The sequel to the 2024 movie adaptation of a popular Broadway musical, “Wicked”. With the first adaptation of the musical, it quickly became one of the most popular movies. The upcoming sequel “Wicked: For Good” may as well follow in the prior movie’s footsteps. According to the composer, in the Broadway show, there is a break after the song “Defying Gravity” because if they were to move on without a break, then that would be very anticlimactic. Returning actresses Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, are once again returning for the same roles they had in the first movie. This movie seems to be focused on the relationship between Glinda and Elphaba. This sequel follows the first movie in being in the genres of Musical/Fantasy. Most accounts also say it will also follow the first movie in its rating of PG.
‘Squid Game’
The third and final season of the series is set to come out on June 27 of this year. Picking back up where they left off in season two, the players will continue the games. There is still no official trailer but the series is still extremely popular and anticipated.
From a small clip of the third series, many people have speculated what the next game will be and what the plot will be. Even with the series being rated mature for its intense moments, a decent amount of older teens also enjoy this show and are just as excited for season three as much as its older audience is.
‘How To Train Your Dragon’
This movie series has been a staple of many childhoods. This three-movie, two-series and six short films is gaining a new addition. Like a decent amount of other popular animated movies, this one is also gaining a live-action remake. Set to come out on June 13 of this year, this movie is the adaptation of the very first movie of the animated series. The movie is rated for PG audiences, featuring sequences of intense action and peril. This movie, just like the animated first one, follows the same plot: humans and dragons, at war for years, until a young boy befriends a dragon. Starring Mason Thames as Hiccup, Nico Parker as Astrid, Gerard Butler as Stoick, Julian Dennison as Fishlegs, Gabriel Howell as Snotlout, Bronwyn James as Ruffnut and Harry Trevaldwyn as Tuffnut. The casting of this movie faced some backlash on their casting choices. Nico Parker, the actress playing Astrid, was criticized for the fact that she wasn’t fully white. This is outlandish on its own, even so much that the director said that since it was a fantasy movie, it isn’t about how one looked but instead it was about the spirit and the personality of the actors. Then, the director even said that the tribe in the movie is supposed to be diverse, proving the point that there was no need to criticize Parker for being cast as Astrid. On another note, Gerard Butler is returning for the role of Stoick the Vast. Butler had originally voiced Stoick in the animated version of the series. The movie is in the genre of Fantasy/Action, being about an hour and 56 minutes in length.
