Overview of Last Season: Isaiah Barker – LJ State Champ, 4×200 of JR Linn, Will Kostur, Grant Walker and Isaiah Barker placed 5th and broke school record. Joey Smart was a state qualifier in pole vault and the 4×400 of Carson Morris, Isaiah Barker, Grant Linn and Grant Walker qualified for state as well. 4×100 team of JR Linn, Will Kostur, Grant Walker and Isaiah Barker broke the school record.

Season Outlook (Quote from the coach): We really feel like if we can get consistent personal improvement over the course of the season, we can get a lot of athletes to Columbus for the State Championships. Running at Jesse Owens Stadium is the expectation – and everything between now and then is in service to getting everyone on the team to improve.

Season Outlook (Quote from the coach): We graduated half of our top varsity players from last year. Even though we are young in experience, our team will be competitive. The boys have put in countless hours on the court during the off season to prepare themselves for the tough competition they will face. They are eager to play their first match on April 2nd against McKinley.

Season Outlook (Quote from the coach): 2024 was one of the best seasons any team has had in our program’s history. With League and District Championships and a Regional Runner-up, we also had the Federal League & Stark County Player of the year. Now that we are onto the 2025 season we have an experienced group back that wants to improve upon last year’s successes! Our Pitching staff and defense will once again be very strong and disciplined with great team chemistry throughout! Should make for an exciting year, can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

Season Outlook (Quote from the coach): We lost our two top scorers, our top two defenders and our starting goalie to graduation. This year’s seniors are ready to step up and fill some of those roles, and we have some younger players capable of filling bigger roles for us this season.

Overview of Last Season: The 2024 season was most successful season the Boys lacrosse team has had since we won the 2006 State Championship. The ’24 Vikings finished 19-3 and defeated Cleveland St. Ignatius in the OHSAA Div.1, Region 2 finals and advanced to the State Final Four. Unfortunately, we lost to the eventual state champions, Olentangy Liberty, in a close game.

Season Outlook (Quote from the coach): After the success of last year, the 2025 senior class has big shoes to fill. We do return the core nucleus of last year’s Final Four team, but we lost 9 starters or contributors to graduation. Despite that, we have high expectations and expect to make another deep run in the state tournament.
