Claudia Sheinbaum was sworn in as both Mexico’s first female and first Jewish-heritage president on Oct. 2. President Sheinbaum is a former climate scientist turned politician who won Mexico’s election, promising to keep in place social programs, boost the economy, expand housing projects and tackle the root causes of cartels. Sheinbaum spoke about how her victory showed how it was possible\ for Mexican women to achieve any goal. She is added to the growing list of female world leaders.
