Over 53,000 people fled Port-au-Prince, Haiti, due to gang violence, with the UN stating rural regions are not equipped to handle the influx. Gangs are attacking businesses, vandalizing schools, and posing threats to healthcare. “The council issued its first official statement last week, promising to restore ‘public and democratic order,’ but it has yet to take any concrete actions.”
