We can all agree, as students, that school is very stressful no matter what grade you’re in, at some point you will feel overwhelmed by something. Whether it be a school project coming up, a ton of homework or maybe you’re just having some bumps in the road with your friends. Imagine if there was a week where there was no school, you just had a week to relax, to stay in or go out, to catch up on your homework or hangout with friends. Imagine what you could do with a week off of school just to yourself. Thankfully, we as students don’t have to Imagine, because we have spring break.Yes, it may seem silly to say that spring break is a big deal. Spring break is so much more than just a week off of school. It gives us that little break that, let’s be honest, we all need. With spring break just around the corner, many are wondering what to do with your week of relaxation and resetting. Whether you’re having a staycation right here in North Canton or you’re going to Disney World it is important to soak up every benefit of spring break. Spring break is not just good for the personal aspect of it but it is also good for the mental aspect. Studies have shown that spring break is crucial for mental decompression, which is extremely beneficial in helping students find relief from any school related anxiety. In our last editorial ‘The Power of One’ we discussed how one person can make a huge difference on a total stranger. Do you ever just give yourself a second to breathe? If not, spring break is the perfect chance to give yourself a break. Maybe you’ll pick up meditation or try to eat healthier over spring break. You could pick up a new hobby or maybe you’ll just try and get Outdoors more. Speaking of which, over your break you should try to get outside as much as possible. Just a walk around your local park to clear your mind can be so relaxing. Just merely being outside and in the Sun has more mental health benefits than you could ever imagine. After months of being stuffed in a dark gloomy classroom, springtime is the best time to go outside and get that fresh air that you have been craving. Whatever you plan on doing on your break try and fit in something new. Think of it as a fresh start and come back to school better than when you left.
