“KFC has announced it is closing all its restaurants in Lesotho amid a severe outbreak of bird flu in neighbouring South Africa,” according to BBC, Oct. 26, 2023. KFC Lesotho has faced a shortage of chicken due to the country’s government banning poultry imports. The chickens come from certified bird flu-free farms in South Africa but the outbreak has caused a shortage of eggs and chicken meat in southern Africa. “KFC Lesotho said it was committed to finding a resolution and assured customers its restaurants would be opening their doors soon.”
